I am keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a wood lathe.  If anyone could help me I would be very Thankful!  I am working on Custom Tone Boards right now, experimenting with different Reed Materials along with Reed Shapes and Tone Board Designs.  Great Things to Come.....I would love the tool that would give me radial symmetry!
Many Thanks in Advance!

The shipping cost of used lathes almost make them cost prohibitive.  Best to look for a used lathe on a local basis.

Nevermind.  I thought I had a deal for you but it was odd-sized all the way around.

Look for something with a MT2.

I bought the PSI turncrafter off of amazon about 8 months ago for around $170 I beleive with free shipping.  The lathe is the cheap part in making game calls.  I have spent well over $2000 now on drill press, table saw, scroll saw, grinder, chisels, mandrels, jigs, 4 jaw chucks, collet chucks, bench sanders and still need some more stuff.  So as you can see the lathe is really the cheapest part in making game calls.  Just the 4 jaw chuck to fit the lathe cost more than the lathe itself.  I am not trying to push you away from starting to make calls just want you to understand it cost alot to get started.  With that said I will say I have made my money back for what I have put in it and I am starting to come out ahead.  Good luck and let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

Thanks for the advice.  I am prepared for the extra costs and understand that a lot of extras are needed and/or wanted.  I am expecting to pay more money for good wood working tools for the lathe but luckily my Dad has a Full Shop with Tons of Equipment and just about every Snap-on Tool you can imagine!  He gave me an old Rockwell Drill Press last night! :2up:
I can't wait to get started and thanks for the link!  You speak true and I like that!
Thanks again!
