some smokers
« on: July 20, 2010, 06:12:48 PM »
So these are two calls I made in the last month or so.  The one on the left is Cocobola and the left is Honduran Rosewood.  Thinking about converting the big one to a goose call if I can figure out a way to cut out and save the toneboard from it while still having the hole enlarged and stay in the center.   Anyway, thought I would get your opinions.   I don't like the look of the lanyard groove, but I figure I had better put one on there to decrease chances of me losing it.

I like the one on the left too.  Very unique shape for sure.  You might have an easier time with an o-ring insert design as opposed to a friction fit.  Doing a friction fit with the shoulder design you've got has got to be a challenge!

Regarding the lanyard groove, I think it works with the call well and honestly I think it needs it from an aesthetics standpoint, not to mention functionality.

yeah, the one on the OTHER left.        Yeah, the friction fit is a challenge but 600 grit sandpaper makes it alot easier.   O ring will be happening if it goes to my dad because he'll wear it out and probably lose it in some mud puddle.
