Turns pretty well...hard stuff though. Takes the mother load of ca to get it smooth.

Nice looking call David.
I tried black palm on a bottle stopper recently and found that it has a tendency to tear out if you get too aggressive. Gotta take tiny bites. I used a lot of CA as a grain filler and then dipped it...Came out glass-smooth. I need to try making a call from it now.

Looks good, a great job with a wood that is a "little" difficult to work with.
I prefer to use the palm woods as fire starters
, I found that it burns real good.

Nice looking call. I just made my first duck call out of black palm and it didnt seem so bad. You did a great job on this one.
