Striker tips

Does everyone here avoid getting finish on their striker tip surface? Might be a odd question, but I'm curious.  :thanks:

If you are dipping them then its a no brainer. If you are spraying them then tape the ends up.

I used to tape them.  Now, I drop them in their drilled hole for spraying, and that keeps the finish off of the tips.
